It’s showtime for Mariah Carey, and she certainly made a grand return! The iconic diva hit the stage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday, Dec. 17, for the final show of her Christmas Time tour. After being forced to cancel several performances due to a flu illness, Carey wrapped up the tour in front of a starry-eyed crowd, which included none other than Rihanna.

The moment became unforgettable when Mariah, in a playful gesture, signed Rihanna’s breast during the concert. As the camera zoomed in, Rihanna, who looked chic in her tan fluffy jacket and sunglasses, grinned and said, “Mariah Carey is signing my tit.” A fun and lighthearted exchange that only added to the magic of the evening.

Mariah’s triumphant return to the stage was all the more special given the recent health setbacks that had forced her to cancel three shows. On Dec. 11, she shared the disappointing news with her fans on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that she was battling the flu and had to cancel her Pittsburgh show. “Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show,” she wrote, expressing her love for her fans.

Two days later, the cancellations continued with two more shows—Newark and Belmont—called off as she still wasn’t feeling well. However, just a day before her Brooklyn show, Mariah had a Christmas miracle moment. On Dec. 16, she posted to Instagram, “Lambs, thank you for making my #Christmastime so special. I’ve loved singing with you every night, and I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow in Brooklyn for the last show of the tour.”

This year’s Christmas Time tour was especially significant, as it marked the 30th anniversary of Mariah’s iconic album Merry Christmas, which includes the timeless holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” In a heartwarming moment during the Dec. 9 show in Raleigh, N.C., Mariah’s 13-year-old twins with ex-husband Nick Cannon—Monroe and Moroccan—joined her onstage to present her with flowers in celebration of the song’s return to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“This was the perfect moment to find that out,” a grateful Mariah told the audience, acknowledging the outpouring of love that made her Christmas song a chart-topping success once again.

Alongside her performances, Mariah also marked the anniversary of Merry Christmas with the release of a limited deluxe edition of the album on Dec. 9. Fans of all ages have continued to embrace the holiday classic, ensuring that Carey’s yuletide reign will never end.
