Lady Gaga is absolutely smitten with her soon-to-be husband, Michael Polansky.
In a heartwarming moment during the latest episode of Rolling Stone‘s The Breakdown, the pop icon, 38, shared the “romantic” Valentine’s Day surprise she received from her fiancé earlier this year.
“Michael built a home studio for me,” Gaga revealed, a sparkle in her eye. “For Valentine’s Day, he told me he had a surprise. And then he turned his office into a full-on music studio. I mean, it’s kind of romantic.”
Gaga went on to reflect on how this thoughtful gift perfectly suited her needs. She explained that she often “nested” at Malibu’s famous studios, where the environment eventually became an extension of her own home. But having a creative space right at home? That’s a dream come true.
Gaga and Polansky, 46, have been a couple since their romance first made headlines in 2020, when they were spotted kissing at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Las Vegas. Their love story quickly blossomed, and by 2024, the couple was ready to take the next step, with Gaga proudly announcing their engagement while in Paris.
As for Polansky, he’s not just the man behind the romantic gestures. He’s also a key figure in Gaga’s music. The two have worked together on several projects, including the track “Disease,” where Polansky offered his insight into the creative process. Gaga recalls, “We were working on the lyrics, and Michael suggested another way to phrase something. It was super intimate because he knows me so well.”
In fact, Polansky’s deep understanding of her creative process helps to make their collaboration incredibly fluid. “I think the magic of our relationship is that I can be my full creative self,” Gaga confessed. “It makes the writing and producing process so much more natural, and it allows me to live in a beautiful, balanced way.”
The pair’s bond extends beyond their personal lives; their professional partnership continues to grow. Polansky, an entrepreneur with roles across various philanthropic organizations (including being the executive director at the Parker Foundation), has previously worked as co-executive producer on Gaga’s Harlequin companion album for Joker: Folie à Deux.
Gaga also credited Polansky’s unwavering support for helping her evolve as an artist. “He would say to me every day, ‘Go do what you were born to do and do it with every cell in your body.’ And I’ve been living that advice.” With Disease released in October 2024, the song’s deeper meanings are a testament to their shared creative journey. “The lyrics took on a deeper significance because we were able to explore some emotions I hadn’t fully acknowledged,” she said. “And that’s something I’m really grateful for.”
With both personal and professional milestones aligning, it’s clear that Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky are more than just lovers—they’re a true creative partnership.
