Barry Manilow is trading his tour bus for a permanent Vegas residence. On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the legendary singer, now 81, announced that he’s officially taken up a lifetime residency at the Westgate Resort & Casino’s International Theater in Las Vegas.
“It’s been an incredible journey performing at the International Theater,” Manilow shared in a heartfelt statement. “David Siegel and the Westgate team have become like family to me. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to make Westgate my home for the rest of my career.”
The man behind timeless hits like “Copacabana” celebrated the big news on social media, inviting fans to his new “house” in a playful Instagram post: “Have you been to Barry’s house? You’re invited to see #MANILOW at @westgatevegas all year long!”
In fact, his residency has been a long time coming. As part of his ongoing engagement, Manilow is set to perform a series of holiday concerts from Dec. 5 through Dec. 14. The shows will feature some of his classic hits, along with festive jingles that are sure to bring some holiday cheer to the iconic venue. Tickets are already available for performances extending through November 2025.
David Siegel, the founder and executive chairman of Westgate, couldn’t hide his excitement. “Barry Manilow is a generational artist and a dear friend. Over the years, we’ve developed a personal and professional bond that’s incredibly special. It’s an honor to offer him the opportunity to perform at Westgate for a lifetime.”
Manilow made history at the International Theater in 2022 when he surpassed Elvis Presley’s record for the most concerts ever performed at the venue, notching his 637th show. To commemorate the milestone, he was presented with a key to the Las Vegas Strip — a symbol of his enduring influence on the city’s entertainment scene.
Earlier this year, though, there were some health concerns when he canceled a concert during his London residency, citing “doctor’s orders.” Fortunately, he returned to the stage the very next night, much to the relief of fans, including Pet Shop Boys’ Chris Lowe, who was in attendance.
In an interview with ITV before his London shows, Manilow had declared, “I’m done with touring,” admitting that the grueling schedule no longer held the same appeal. “Everybody tells me, at my age, how come I’m still singing the high Fs? I just think it’s gotten old for me now. I’m done with touring, but I’ll keep making records,” he shared.
Reflecting on his extraordinary career, Manilow told the Des Moines Register in July that he never imagined his success would last so long. “When I started making records, I never thought this career of mine would last this long. We started in 1974, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing this country and meeting so many wonderful people. It always shocked me that they showed up to see this skinny little guy sing his songs.”
Despite saying goodbye to the demands of touring, Manilow made it clear that he’s not walking away from performing entirely. “We all know I am saying goodbye to touring. I’m not saying goodbye to performing. I’m done packing,” he quipped.
For fans eager to see Manilow perform in his new Vegas home, tickets for his residency are now available, promising an unforgettable experience from a true musical icon.
