Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia recently opened up about her challenging Golden Globes experience, claiming her then-boyfriend, country music star Zach Bryan, allegedly “ruined” her night over her choice of dress. The influencer, known for her candid personality on social media, shared the details on her latest episode of the BFFs podcast, alleging that Bryan tried to control not only her wardrobe but also her online presence.
The social media star recalled that her 2024 Golden Globes night was off to an exciting start until she sent photos of her outfit to Bryan. “That was the first time he really tried to control what I wore and what I posted,” LaPaglia explained. “I posted a carousel of pictures, and he didn’t like my dress. He didn’t want to date someone who presented themselves that way.”
LaPaglia continued, describing the emotional toll the event took on her after Bryan allegedly unfollowed her on social media, expressing his disapproval of her dress and the images she shared. “I flew home after the Golden Globes, and he ruined my night,” she said, adding that it wasn’t the first time he allegedly cast a shadow on her happy moments. “Anything good I did for me, he had to ruin it.”
While discussing their relationship, LaPaglia shared claims that Bryan had a pattern of influencing her choices, both in what she wore and in how she shared her life with followers. She even alleged he pressured her to delete certain Instagram photos, saying it felt like she had to “change [her] image” to fit with his preferences. “I’m twisted in the head, feeling like I have to look a certain way just to keep up with his standards,” she said.
LaPaglia recounted how she had initially enjoyed her evening at the Golden Globes, but things quickly changed after she shared her look with Bryan. “Everything was going so well. But once he saw the dress, it was like a switch flipped,” she said. “I spent the rest of the night crying to my friend Grace [O’Malley] because he’d made me feel like I’d done something wrong just by wearing it.”
The tension culminated when Bryan, in a seemingly contradictory move, shared a photo of her on his Instagram Story, complimenting her appearance. “He reposted the picture and said, ‘You are so beautiful,’ but behind the scenes, he was freaking out and unfollowing me,” LaPaglia explained. “It was like a tug of war with my emotions.”
The former couple had gone public with their relationship in July 2023, but by October, Bryan confirmed their breakup on social media, citing differences. LaPaglia, who admitted to feeling “blindsided” by the end of their relationship, described the experience as emotionally challenging.
Since their split, LaPaglia has been open about working through her emotions and rebuilding her self-confidence. She hopes sharing her story will shed light on the impact of controlling behavior in relationships and empower others to set boundaries.
Ultimately, the podcast host aims to leave these memories in the past and move forward. “For me, the Golden Globes was supposed to be a celebration, but I’m moving on from that night and focusing on the positives,” she concluded.
