Austyns Stancil isn’t leaving The Voice stage anytime soon! On Monday, October 28, Stancil faced off with fellow Team Gwen contestant Jose Luis in a captivating battle round. Despite his strong performance, Stefani ultimately selected Jose Luis, but it didn’t take long for the other coaches to swoop in and make their moves to save Stancil.
For their battle, Stancil and Jose Luis delivered a stirring rendition of Sam Smith‘s “Lay Me Down,” capturing the emotion and range of the song. Following the performance, Stefani praised Stancil’s improvements, noting his attention to detail and polished stage presence. “You had it in you already, but you adjusted perfectly,” she said, highlighting his control and unique vocal tone.
After complimenting both singers, Stefani admitted that choosing a winner was nearly impossible, remarking, “You both could win The Voice.” Seeking advice, she turned to fellow coaches, with Reba McEntire assuring her, “You’re not going to lose picking either of them.” Ultimately, Stefani chose Jose Luis, citing his impressive vocal range and versatility.
However, Stancil’s journey wasn’t over yet. Host Carson Daly announced he was up for a steal, and Reba McEntire immediately hit her button, soon followed by Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. The triple steal sent shockwaves through the studio, as Daly excitedly declared, “Make it a triple!”
With all three coaches eager to welcome Stancil to their team, each took their turn with an impassioned pitch. McEntire brought humor into her plea, saying, “Austin, you need to be on my team because I’m red-headed and love your shirt!” She went on to praise his confident stage presence and charisma, attributes she admires in a performer.
Next up, Snoop Dogg, 53, made his case, saying he’d been eyeing Stancil since the beginning. “Let me tell you, nephew,” he said, “I wanted you the first time, but I didn’t get you. I want you the second time, and I’m gonna get you.” Snoop promised to help Stancil explore his soulful side and deepen his vocal artistry.
Finally, Michael Bublé, known for his heartfelt approach, stepped in with his own humorous touch. He called it a “touch decision,” jokingly playing on the high stakes of the moment. “If I wasn’t one of the greatest entertainers on earth, this would be even harder,” he teased, before diving into sincere praise. “Austyns, you filled this place with so much love. I can help you connect with audiences in an even deeper way,” he said, envisioning Stancil’s future as a breakout star.
Having earned a four-chair turn during his initial audition, Stancil found himself in a familiar yet thrilling spot, ready to make another big decision. “We’re back here again, where I’m choosing,” he said, before the episode wrapped up on a cliffhanger, leaving fans eagerly awaiting his choice.
