Fashion designer and Real Housewives of New York City star Rebecca Minkoff recently revealed a surprising personal moment involving her husband, Gavin Bellour. On the Oct. 22 episode of the show, Minkoff, 42, shared that Bellour once helped her with a breastfeeding dilemma in a rather unconventional way.
During a girls’ trip to Erin Lichy’s Hamptons house, Minkoff explained that she found herself unable to pump milk while still breastfeeding her fourth child, Leonardo Scout. Feeling the discomfort of not being able to empty her breasts, she turned to her husband for assistance.
“There’s nothing worse than not emptying. It’s so uncomfortable,” Minkoff shared, as her co-star Sai de Silva agreed, calling it “so painful.” Minkoff then recounted an incident that occurred while the couple was at a club in Paris. “I was like, ‘F— babe, you’re gonna have to sort me out. We’re going to the bathroom right now. You need to release me,'” she recalled.
Without hesitation, Bellour stepped up. He manually sucked out the breast milk, then “spit” it out. Minkoff’s story drew gasps from her fellow cast members, but she expressed her gratitude for her husband’s support, stating that he “took one for the team.”
Despite giving birth to Leonardo over a year ago, Minkoff has no plans to stop breastfeeding anytime soon. While pumping milk in her shared room with fellow cast member Jessel Taank, she revealed that she aims to breastfeed her children as long as possible. “My third was [for] three years,” she mentioned, shocking Jessel when she shared that her older child would ask for milk, saying, “Mommy, booby.”
Rebecca Minkoff and Gavin Bellour, who married in 2009, are parents to four children: Luca, 12, Bowie, 10, Nico, 5, and Leonardo, 19 months.
