The Masked Singer’s Oct. 16 episode delivered a thrilling Sports Night with Group B’s debut, showcasing Bluebell, Chess Piece, Dust Bunny, Goo, and Wasp. Rita Ora and Robin Thicke kicked off the night with a fiery duet of “Rock You Like a Hurricane” before the contestants hit the stage.
Wasp was up first, receiving encouragement from season 10 winner Ne-Yo. He impressed the judges with a powerful rendition of Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body,” leaving them guessing he might be Jason Derulo, Taye Diggs, or Bruno Mars.
Chess Piece followed, with comedian Nikki Glaser as their Masked Ambassador. They captivated the panel with “Believe” by Cher, opening up about overcoming doubts. Judges speculated Chess Piece could be Ashley Graham, Regina King, or Serena Williams.
Bluebell took the stage next, with Kelly Osbourne as her ambassador, and delivered a soulful performance of “We Belong” by Pat Benatar. Clues about tabloid rumors and a blossoming career led the judges to guess Ellie Goulding, Leighton Meester, or Taylor Momsen.
Dust Bunny, introduced by his friend Dick Van Dyke, sang “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. With references to David Bowie and Marlon Brando, the judges thought he might be Will Ferrell, Jay Leno, or John C. Reilly.
Lastly, Goo closed the night with an emotional cover of “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. Rita Ora was blown away, calling it “one of the best performances I’ve ever seen” on the show. The judges speculated Goo could be Jon Batiste, Khalid, or Shaboozey.
In the end, Dust Bunny received the fewest votes and unmasked, revealing comedian Andy Richter as the man behind the mask.
