Riley Keough recently shared her mixed feelings about some of her tattoos, particularly a Gemini symbol inked on her finger when she was 17. During her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actress revealed that while she is considering laser removal, she currently hides the tattoo under rings.
Reflecting on her teenage tattoo, Keough admitted, “It was kind of a moment, but I think about lasering them off.” Host Seth Meyers humorously suggested that she wait until tattoo-removal technology advances further. “In ten years, it might just be a pill or a lotion,” he quipped.
Despite her ambivalence toward her early tattoos, Keough, 35, still values other inkings with significant meanings. She discussed the use of a tattoo symbol in her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, which Keough completed. A geometric shape—also tattooed on both Lisa Marie and her late brother Benjamin Keough—marks the transition between their voices in the book. “I felt that was really beautiful,” she noted.
Keough previously honored her brother Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020, with a tattoo of his name on her collarbone. She often shares memories of her family as she continues to preserve her mother’s legacy following Lisa Marie’s passing in 2023 at age 54.
The actress’s honest reflections on her tattoos, and her unique way of incorporating them into her family’s memoir, offer a touching glimpse into the intimate ways she honors her loved ones.
