Justin Timberlake has announced the postponement of his concert in Newark, New Jersey, originally scheduled for October 8, due to an injury that has left him unable to perform.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the 43-year-old singer expressed his disappointment and commitment to rescheduling the show. “I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all—but I’m working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve,” Timberlake wrote, accompanied by a broken heart emoji. He concluded his post with gratitude for his fans’ understanding, signing off with “JT.”
Timberlake appeared to be in good spirits at his previous concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where he even facilitated a marriage proposal. During the show, he paused to acknowledge a fan holding a sign that read, “May I propose to Sarah?” He handed the microphone to the man and encouraged him, saying, “You got it.” The crowd erupted in cheers as the fan proposed, and Sarah’s affirmative response was displayed on the arena screens.
In the days leading up to the Newark show, Timberlake shared a touching moment during his performance in Montreal, celebrating his 12th wedding anniversary with his wife, Jessica Biel. “My wife is here tonight. So, be nice to her, Montreal, because she’s sharing me with all of you guys tonight,” he joked, expressing his love for her from the stage.
Looking ahead, Timberlake is set to perform in Philadelphia on October 11, followed by a concert in Washington, D.C. on October 13.
