Bailey Zimmerman, one of country music‘s rising stars, has sparked a lighthearted conversation around spray tans for men — especially for those with red hair.
Speaking with comedian Heather McMahan on E! Live from the Red Carpet at the People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville on September 26, Zimmerman revealed his surprising grooming habit. “I was supposed to get a spray tan again, but I didn’t because my last one was still holding up,” Zimmerman admitted. He then humorously added, “I feel like they just get a bad rap for dudes. Honestly, who doesn’t want to be tan? And as a ginger, it’s tough for us to tan naturally! It makes me feel better, so I’m sticking with it — we should legalize tans.”
Beyond the spray tan discussion, Zimmerman, often referred to as “country’s bad boy,” shared a more personal revelation. He opened up about his ADHD diagnosis, describing it as his “superpower.” Fellow artist Tanner Adell echoed the sentiment, and Zimmerman reflected on how his former teachers, who struggled with him in the classroom, now praise his music career. “Teachers hated me, but now they’re like, ‘Oh Bailey, we love your songs!'” he joked.
Zimmerman, who went viral on TikTok in 2021, is up for two major honors at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards: Male Country Artist of the Year and Social Country Star of the Year. His breakout single, “Rock and a Hard Place,” enjoyed massive success on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, while his debut album, Religiously. The Album, released in the spring of 2023, solidified his place in the country music scene.
