In a recent Instagram video posted on September 11, Beisner-Buck, 47, and Buck, 55, detailed the unfortunate event. Buck explained that they were enjoying a brief golf outing during a work trip when the accident happened. “On July 7, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Michelle was performing a handstand just as I was teeing off,” Buck recounted.
Beisner-Buck, a former cheerleader and current ESPN reporter, provided additional details in the video’s caption. She described the injury as a “shattered ankle down to the joint” and noted that while the bones are healing, the impact of the golf ball severely damaged her tibial nerve. “I’ve been dealing with nerve blocks and lidocaine infusions without much success,” she wrote, explaining that surgery was necessary to decompress the nerve and aid her recovery.
Buck, who appeared visibly distressed, expressed deep remorse for the incident. “This was a total freak accident,” he said in the video. “I love this woman and all I want to do is protect her. Instead, I hurt her with a golf ball. It’s pretty sick, and I feel terrible.”
Beisner-Buck, despite her discomfort, reassured Buck that the accident was not his fault and expressed her eagerness to return to her normal activities. “I can’t wait to get back on my two healthy feet,” she wrote. “I’m looking forward to running around with my kids, returning to work, driving, dancing, and just doing everything I love.”
