As LISA of BLACKPINK steps into her solo spotlight, she draws inspiration from one of pop’s biggest icons, Taylor Swift.
In a recent interview published on August 12, Elle’s latest cover star expressed her admiration for Swift’s global Eras Tour, which she attended during its Singapore stop in March. “She’s incredible!” LISA exclaimed, reflecting on the demanding performance. “Singing alone on a stage for three and a half hours is crazy…I maybe could do it with a lot of practice.”
During the concert, LISA had the opportunity to meet Swift backstage, where they shared a memorable moment and posed for photographs. “Had such a blast at The Eras Tour! Amazing performance @taylorswift,” LISA shared on social media, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Fresh off the release of her latest single “Rockstar,” which landed at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July, LISA is already teasing her next solo track. She recently posted a Y2K-inspired snippet on TikTok, generating excitement among her fans.
In April, LISA secured a significant deal with RCA Records in collaboration with her own LLOUD company, granting her ownership of her solo master recordings. This move is particularly notable given Swift’s well-documented struggles to regain control of the masters to her first six albums, leading to her re-recorded “Taylor’s Version” releases.
LISA commented on this achievement, saying, “I don’t think it’s easy for anyone to be able to get that. It feels like a dream. I’m not sure if it’s real or not.”
