In a new twist of events, R&B singer Kehlani finds herself at the center of controversy once again, this time involving a custody battle over her 5-year-old daughter, Adeya. The child’s father, Javaughn Young-White, has filed for full custody, citing concerns over Kehlani’s alleged involvement with a cult.
Court documents reveal that Young-White, who has been trying for years to have his name added to Adeya’s birth certificate, claims that Kehlani gave birth at home in what he describes as a “cult-orchestrated” setting. He further alleges that Kehlani has withheld Adeya’s social security number from him, leading him to question whether their daughter even possesses one.
Young-White’s filings paint a concerning picture, alleging that Kehlani has been under the influence of a cult for several years. He claims the cult controls her actions, particularly regarding the upbringing of their daughter. One alarming instance detailed in the documents involves the cult leader, known only as Neto, who purportedly had a vision that Young-White posed a deadly threat to Adeya. Following this, Kehlani allegedly barred him from seeing their daughter for months.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Young-White also asserts that Neto has a troubling history of sexual assault accusations and that he conducts “religious ceremonies” involving Adeya in private. Young-White recounts a disturbing incident from Adeya’s birthday in 2023, where he was allegedly physically restrained by cult members when attempting to retrieve his daughter. He also alleges that a cult member, referred to as ‘Messiah,’ has taken baths with Adeya while under the influence of psychedelic substances.
In light of these allegations, Young-White is not only seeking full custody but also wants his name included on Adeya’s birth certificate and is requesting child support from Kehlani.
