The U.S. women’s gymnastics team is celebrating their Olympic victory in style, with a clever throwback to Kanye West‘s famous 2005 Grammy speech. The team, consisting of Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee, and Hezly Rivera, clinched the gold medal yesterday, and they’ve been basking in the triumph on social media ever since.

In a viral TikTok video posted by Sunisa Lee, the gymnasts paid homage to West’s memorable acceptance speech, which has since become a popular meme. Back in 2005, West won the Grammy for Best Rap Album for The College Dropout and playfully acknowledged the audience’s expectations for him to do something outlandish.

“I know everybody’s asking the question — they wanted to know, ‘I know he’s going to wild out, I know he’s going to do something crazy,’” West said on stage. “Everybody wanted to know what I would do if I didn’t win. I guess we’ll never know.”

In Lee’s TikTok, the team mimics West’s speech in two parts: first, they appear without their medals, mouthing the words, “Everybody wanted to know what I would do if I didn’t win.” The video then transitions to a triumphant clip of the team wearing their medals, smiling and finishing the line, “I guess we’ll never know.”
