BTS‘s Jimin is making waves as a solo artist, with his latest album MUSE reaching impressive milestones on the U.S. Billboard charts.
On July 30th, Billboard announced that Jimin’s second solo album, MUSE, soared to number 2 on the Billboard 200 for the week of August 3rd. This achievement also extends to other key charts, with MUSE securing the second spot on both the Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts.
The album’s title track, “Who,” made a significant impact as well, reaching 14th place on the Hot 100. It also claimed the top positions on the Global 200, Global Excl. U.S., and Digital Song Sales charts.
Every track from MUSE, including “Who,” made notable entries on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. Standout tracks include “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)” at 60th, “Be Mine” at 123rd, “Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson)” at 159th, and “Rebirth (Intro)” at 187th on the Global 200.
These accomplishments underscore Jimin’s formidable presence as a solo artist. Following the success of his debut solo album FACE, which also made its mark on the Billboard 200, Jimin now boasts six solo tracks on the Hot 100. He also holds the record for the most number-one positions (six) on the Digital Song Sales chart among K-pop soloists.
Big Hit Music praised Jimin’s dedication, emphasizing his genuine effort and commitment to his craft. In a review video for MUSE, Jimin revealed that he revisited vocal fundamentals during the album’s creation, reflecting his ongoing growth as an artist. Producer Pdogg noted, “Jimin’s hard work and persistence are evident in the evolution of his music with MUSE.”
Jimin’s recent performance of “Who” on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon received widespread acclaim, trending on YouTube and further boosting the song’s chart position. The song, which captures the emotional turmoil of longing for someone you’ve never met, is set against a bold, seductive beat. Consequence of Sound lauded Jimin’s dynamic choreography and powerful vocals, calling him an “irreplaceable performer.”
In addition, “Who” dominated Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart for seven consecutive days from July 23rd to 29th, solidifying Jimin’s impact on the global music scene.
