Rising rap star Ice Spice has taken a bold new direction in the music video for “Oh Shhh…,” a track from her debut album Y2K!. The video, directed by George Buford, reimagines the iconic Statue of Liberty with Ice Spice stepping into the role, complete with her own signature twist.
The visually striking video sees Ice Spice taking over Ellis Island, donning a green dress while wielding a stack of cash in place of the traditional torch. The rapper’s unique interpretation of Lady Liberty is both eye-catching and symbolic, adding a fresh flair to the classic symbol.
Travis Scott makes a prominent appearance in the video, joining Ice Spice at the trendy New York City restaurant Sei Less. The duo is shown enjoying a lavish feast, with Scott pouring a Cacti drink as Ice Spice energetically twerks to the beat.
Scott’s verse on the track is packed with clever wordplay, as he raps, “To smoke, we brought us some nics / I told Dolan to sell us the Knicks / Like the flow, Jalen Brunson won’t trip, man,” over RIOTUSA’s hard-hitting drill production.
Fans got a taste of the collaboration earlier this month when Scott and Ice Spice previewed “Oh Shhh…” during the Houston rapper’s Circus Maximus Tour stop in London. Ice Spice made a surprise appearance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 11, marking the live debut of the track.
Ice Spice’s Y2K! album, featuring 10 tracks, officially dropped on streaming platforms on Friday, July 26!
