Soulja Boy has issued a stern warning to Drake following speculation over lyrics in Drake’s unreleased track with Lil Yachty.
Earlier this week, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat previewed the song, which features Drake singing, “I’m watching the moves, playin’ it close / SOD, super soak.” Fans quickly speculated that the line might reference Soulja Boy’s record label, Stacks on Deck (SOD), and his 2007 hit “Super Soak.” This comes on the heels of Soulja Boy’s recent comments about Drake.
Upon hearing the rumors, Soulja Boy took to Instagram on Thursday (July 25) to demand clarification from Drake and to taunt him over his past altercation with Kendrick Lamar.
“Drake, you up here talking about some ‘SOD Supersoak,’” Soulja Boy began. “Boy, stop playing with me. That better be a shoutout. If you’re trying to sneak diss me or play with me in any way, I’m telling you, I’m gonna get on your ass.”
He continued, questioning Drake’s response to Kendrick Lamar: “How did you let Kendrick Lamar cook you, and then your first response is to come at me? Twin, it better be a shoutout, because the blogs are saying you’re dissing me.”
Soulja Boy advised Drake to “keep that light,” adding, “This is your first and only warning. If it’s a shoutout, cool. If it’s any form of disrespect or a sneak diss, I’m on your ass, boy.”
Soulja Boy further urged Drake to clarify his intentions: “If it’s a shoutout, stamp that. You or Yachty need to stamp that. If it’s not, speak on how you feel, my boy. We can get to it.”
Earlier this month, Soulja Boy expressed his disappointment with Drake on Twitter: “You disappointed me. Doing all those weak songs with those guys—look where it got you. None of them had your back.”
He later added, “Freaky ass.”
As fans await Drake’s response, the tension between these two artists continues to build, leaving the hip-hop community on edge.
