Min Heejin, the CEO of ADOR and creator of the popular girl group NewJeans, has come under fire following a report by the Korean media outlet “Dispatch.” The report, published on July 25, alleges that Min Hee-jin frequently used offensive language and exhibited superstitious beliefs, leading to a significant controversy within the music industry.

In April, Min Hee-jin and HYBE, the parent company of ADOR, parted ways, resulting in a public exchange of accusations. Dispatch has now released conversation records from Min Hee-jin’s communication software, revealing her use of derogatory terms such as “bitch,” “whore,” and “C8 (a Korean profanity).” Shockingly, she even directed these insults towards New Jeans, the group she helped create.

The report also highlights Min Hee-jin’s superstitious practices. According to Dispatch, she believes in witches and accepted rice cakes from a witch with specific instructions to store them in the freezer and share them with others. The witch claimed that consuming the rice cakes would “cheer her up and clear her mind,” a notion that Min Hee-jin found pleasing. She even expressed her intention to serve the rice cakes to visiting presidents.

In March, a sexual harassment case emerged within the HYBE Group. Min Hee-jin’s response to the incident was disturbingly dismissive. Upon learning about the accusations against a company employee, she reportedly said, “Let that bitch have a taste of real life” and referred to the female victims as “crazy women.” She also made alarming comments about feminists, stating, “Those who want to kill all feminists, don’t do their jobs well, and only work hard in this aspect, they will be punished by God.”

Min Hee-jin’s aggressive remarks extended to the accused harasser. Despite overwhelming evidence against him, she initially defended him and later expressed anger when he failed to maintain his denial. “Didn’t you say that it was absolutely not true? I trusted you so much, but you changed your words and said you didn’t remember it?” she reportedly scolded.

Additionally, Min Hee-jin was accused of verbally abusing female employees and underage trainees, using terms like “bitches” and making derogatory comments about their appearances. She was particularly harsh towards New Jeans, frequently calling them “fat as pigs.” Even when the group won the Billboard 2024 Female Artist Award, Min Hee-jin’s response was scathing: “They said so many nice words but didn’t greet me properly. I really want to kill them.”

The revelations have sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the working environment at ADOR. As the controversy unfolds, the future of Min Hee-jin’s career and her relationship with New Jeans remains uncertain.
