Jackson White, star of “Tell Me Lies” and “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines,” has announced the death of his father, Jack Cameron White.
Jack White, known for his roles as a drummer and actor in “Sons of Anarchy” and the ABC and CMT series “Nashville,” was also the ex-husband of actress Katey Sagal.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Jackson White shared a heartfelt tribute to his father. “This guy taught me everything. We had ups and downs, as a man has with their father. But in the end, it was just love,” he wrote. “He was an open book, a fighter, genuinely the funniest person my sister and I knew, and single-handedly invented the loudest, most powerful backbeat of any drummer I’ve ever seen.”
Jack Cameron White and Katey Sagal were seen together at NBC’s party for the Television Critics Association on July 18, 2000, held at Jillian’s at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles.
White added, “He’s not in pain anymore. And we get to remember him, 6 foot 4 with a denim shirt and a Starbucks muffin, driving us around, teaching us every important song ever written. I’m wearing his shoes every day. Not a metaphor, he had really cool shoes. Big Jack White. 1954-2024. I love you, dad, forever.”
The post included archival videos and photos of his father, who had an extensive career playing with numerous musicians, most notably with Rick Springfield during the late 1970s, 1980s, and into the early 2000s, according to Jack White’s website. Jack White and Katey Sagal were married in the 1990s and shared two children, Sarah and Jackson.
Katey Sagal commented on her son’s post, writing, “Beautiful Jackson and Beautiful Sarah, I will always be grateful to your dad for you! Thank you, Jack❤️🙏 Finally free.”
A cause of death has not been disclosed. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives of Jackson White and Katey Sagal for further comment.
