In a recent podcast appearance, actor Justin Long shared a humorous yet embarrassing incident involving his wife, Kate Bosworth. The “Barbarian” star, 46, recounted an episode of food poisoning during a trip to Mexico City that led to an unfortunate mishap in their shared bed.
During the “PIE With Kurt Sutter and Katey Sagal” podcast, Long revealed the extent of his illness, which required him to be hooked up to an IV. “Kate was following me to the bathroom with the IV bag,” Long recalled. “It was like a scene from ‘Dumb and Dumber.’”
The situation escalated when Long woke up to find he had soiled the bed. “There’s no delicate way to say this: I had pooped the bed, and she was right there beside me,” Long admitted.
Despite the embarrassing moment, Bosworth’s reaction was one of support and patience. “She was just two feet away, holding the IV bag, telling me everything was fine,” Long shared. “In that moment, I realized how much I loved her. She wasn’t judging me or making me feel bad. I felt so lucky.”
Long went on to describe how Bosworth nursed him back to health, even convincing him to take a shower despite his reluctance. “I just wanted to stay in bed, but she insisted. As I got back into bed, avoiding the soiled spot, I saw her on the phone with the doctor. For one of the few times, she had a judgmental look.”
Long did not specify when this incident took place but did mention that the couple tied the knot in May 2023. Reflecting on their relationship, Long shared how he knew Bosworth was the one for him. “When I met her, it was a real sense of knowing that I never had before,” he said during a November 2023 appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark.” He added, “Those clichés about knowing when you know suddenly made perfect sense.”
Despite the embarrassing nature of the incident, Long’s story underscores the deep bond and unwavering support between him and Bosworth, turning an awkward moment into a testament of their love and commitment.
