The 34-year-old pop sensation Taylor Swift has been making headlines not just for her Eras Tour but also for her remarkable generosity at various U.K. stops along the way.
Rachel Biggs, CEO of Cardiff Foodbank, revealed to The Guardian in a June 25 interview that Swift was responsible for the largest individual donation the organization has ever received. Cardiff, the capital of Wales, hosted the only single Eras Tour concert during Swift’s 152-date European leg, according to the BBC.
While Biggs did not disclose the exact amount, she emphasized the significant impact of Swift’s contribution. “The breathing space Taylor’s donation has given us will enable us to lift our heads and shift our focus from the food bank to the creation of a sustainable operation supporting people who currently need our help with support to address the root cause of poverty and financial support to set them on the path to not needing our aid anymore,” Biggs told The Guardian.

Swift’s donation helps feed “1,200 people three meals a day, for three days – or 10,800 meals,” Biggs noted. Cardiff Foodbank expressed their gratitude on Instagram, sharing a photo of Swift’s signature friendship bracelets that read, “Thank you Taylor Love, Cardiff Food Bank.” In their caption, the charity described the donation as “beyond our Wildest Dreams,” a playful reference to Swift’s hit song from her 1989 album.
The Guardian also spoke with Rich Jones, CEO of Liverpool’s St. Andrew’s Community Network, which oversees 11 food banks. Jones hailed Swift’s donation as “the most incredible gift,” highlighting the profound difference it will make in their community.
