In a clash of musical titans, Dave Grohl and his band Foo Fighters rocked the London Stadium on Saturday night, while Taylor Swift lit up Wembley Stadium for Night 2 of her Eras Tour.
During the Foo Fighters’ performance, Grohl couldn’t resist referencing Swift, taking a playful jab at the pop star. “I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” he quipped. “So we like to call our tour the Errors Tour. We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f***ing errors as well. Just a couple.”
Grohl then made a bold claim, implying that Swift doesn’t perform live. “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f***ing place,” he told the crowd.
While Grohl has previously praised Swift, some fans suspect his recent comments might stem from an incident where his 17-year-old daughter was harassed online by Swifties after she criticized Swift for using private jets.
Swift, however, seemed unfazed and indirectly addressed Grohl’s remarks during her third night at Wembley. “Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much,” she said. “And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”
Swift’s three-night stint at Wembley was a spectacular success. She will next travel to Dublin, Ireland, for three performances starting on June 28. From there, she will head to Amsterdam on July 4, followed by stops in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.
After a brief break, Swift will return to London’s Wembley Stadium on August 15 for five more nights. Her international tour will continue until she returns to the United States, where she will perform three consecutive nights at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, starting on October 18.
