Jay-Z has fired back with a lawsuit against attorney Tony Buzbee, David Fortney, and their Jane Doe client, following the dismissal of a sexual assault case against him.
On March 3, the rapper filed a case in Alabama, accusing them of malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy, and defamation. Jay-Z claims the allegations were false, malicious, and strategically timed to damage his reputation.
The original lawsuit, filed in October 2024, accused Jay-Z and Diddy of assaulting a 13-year-old at a 2000 MTV afterparty. However, it was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice on February 14, making it impossible to refile.
In his latest legal move, Jay-Z alleges extortion, stating that Jane Doe admitted he never assaulted her and that Buzbee pressured her into making false claims for financial gain. He also asserts the false lawsuit caused him mental distress and a $20 million financial loss.
Buzbee maintains Jane Doe stands by her allegations, dismissing Jay-Z’s lawsuit as an attempt to “bully and intimidate” her.
The legal battle intensifies as Jay-Z seeks to clear his name and hold his accuser accountable.
