Chappell Roan’S Iconic ‘Hot To Go’ Music Video Costume Sells For $89k In Wildfire Relief Auction

Chappell Roan‘s unforgettable costume from the music video for “Hot to Go” has become the star of a charity auction, raising a staggering $88,900 for wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The vintage sequined marching band unitard, paired with strappy knee-high boots, was the highest-selling item at Julien’s Auctions’ Give a Frock Auction on February 25.

Roan, 27, who wore the dazzling outfit in her “Hot to Go” music video and at Outside Lands Festival last summer, generously donated several of her iconic wardrobe pieces for the cause. Despite an initial estimate of $1,000 to $2,000, the costume garnered a whopping 88 times the lowest expected value, setting the auction house’s highest bid.

In addition to the standout ensemble, other memorable items from the “Pink Pony Club” singer raised top bids. A purple fringe two-piece worn at Sacramento’s Goldfield Trading Post sold for $22,225, and a pair of ultra-platform Marc Jacobs boots, worn by Roan during her Rolling Stone photo shoot, went for $6,350.

The success of Roan’s contributions is part of a broader trend in the auction, with pieces from other pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Charli XCX fetching impressive amounts. All proceeds from the auction will benefit wildfire relief organizations, including One Voice and Pasadena Humane, further emphasizing the star power and generosity behind the cause.
