“I mean, she is an absolute icon,” Brown said of Spears. “I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story. But that’s her story, and I am in full support of her bringing her story to life how she wants to.”
Brown’s interest in playing Spears dates back to her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in November 2022, where she mentioned that Spears’ story resonates with her. Despite her eagerness, Brown emphasizes the importance of Spears telling her own story in the way she chooses.
Meanwhile, Universal Pictures has secured the rights to Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, with a biopic in development under the direction of Jon M. Chu. Spears is reportedly very involved in the project, ensuring her story is told authentically.
