Breckie Hill is setting the record straight. The 21-year-old influencer took to TikTok on Saturday, December 7, to address the swirling rumors that she had been involved in a cheating scandal with Barry Keoghan, which supposedly led to his split from actress Sabrina Carpenter.
In a video captioned “Addressing everything,” Hill firmly denied any involvement with Keoghan, explaining that she had never even met the actor. “To put it simply for you all, no, I did not get with Barry. I have never even encountered this man in my life,” Hill stated, adding, “The only time I’ve seen him is on my TV screen from watching Saltburn.”
The rumors began circulating on social media after Hill posted Snapchat videos on November 18, leading fans to speculate that she and Keoghan, 32, had been spotted together at Los Angeles hotspots like San Vicente Bungalows and BOA Steakhouse, the same night Carpenter, 25, was performing in the city.
Hill explained that she had shared a clip she came across that falsely accused her of “homewrecking” Carpenter’s relationship, simply because she found the notion “ridiculous.” “I’m sorry but if I really was the one getting with Barry, why in the world would I be reposting about it?” Hill questioned. “Coming from someone who has been cheated on … I would never want to homewreck any relationship or put any girl through that pain—ever.”
The TikTok star further clarified that her Snapchat videos were simply casual posts about a dinner out with friends at BOA Steakhouse. She reviewed a margarita, giving it a 6/10 for being “too salty.” She then explained that someone misinterpreted her drink review as a reference to Saltburn, the film Keoghan starred in, after learning he had been staying near BOA. “And then, another drink I was reviewing happened to be called a ‘Blackberry Smash’ on the BOA Steakhouse menu, which this person then thought was also a Barry reference,” she added.
Hill went on to call the entire cheating rumor “crazy,” revealing she had reposted the clip while she was lying in a hospital bed recovering from a serious spinal injury. “I was in a hospital bed when I posted that, by the way,” she noted, addressing her followers.
The rumors about Hill and Keoghan came just days after a source confirmed to PEOPLE on December 3 that Keoghan and Carpenter had decided to “take a break” after nearly a year of dating. In the wake of their split, Keoghan deactivated his Instagram, expressing on X (formerly Twitter) that he had been inundated with hateful messages and personal attacks, including comments about his appearance and character.
The Dunkirk actor also shared that his family, including his 2-year-old son Brando, had been threatened, prompting him to take a step back from social media. “I can only sit and take so much,” he wrote.
