Meghan Trainor is finally admitting that some of her beauty decisions didn’t go as planned. In the latest episode of her Workin’ On It podcast, the singer, who has always been a fan of candidness, opened up about her struggles with Botox and lip fillers. The 30-year-old admitted she’s had “too much Botox” and even expressed regret over a lip filler procedure that didn’t quite live up to expectations.
With her characteristic humor, Meghan shared, “I got too much Botox and I need help. I messed up.” The singer, known for her hit songs like “Made You Look” and “All About That Bass,” revealed that while she’s only had Botox a handful of times, it has left a lasting impact—she now finds herself unable to smile properly.
Laughing about the situation, Meghan explained that the Botox was mostly targeted at her forehead, and she also tried a procedure known as a “lip flip.” This procedure involves injecting filler above the upper lip to create the appearance of a fuller pout. However, according to Meghan, the result wasn’t what she expected: “Someone convinced me that if you did a lip flip, you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip, but that wasn’t true.”
Meghan’s cosmetic journey has definitely had some bumps along the way. She continued by sharing how the Botox had left her unable to smile naturally. “Look, this is as big as I can smile,” she said, demonstrating the limited movement. The singer added that her facial muscles were so stiff that even a casual smile became an effort.
Her brother, Ryan Trainor, who co-hosts the podcast with her, hilariously recalled a trip to Home Goods where he pointed out, “Bro, you can’t smile!” Meghan admitted that Ryan’s observation has stuck with her ever since, and now she can’t help but notice her own stiff smile every time she looks in the mirror. “My face hurts to smile,” she said.
One of the funniest moments of the podcast came when Meghan pulled out her phone to show a photo of herself at a dog shelter, holding a dog while visiting the rescue center. In the picture, Meghan looked far from cheerful. “I don’t look happy. I look like I smelled someone’s fart!” she joked, adding, “Somebody help me!”
As the conversation continued, Meghan reflected on her decision to try Botox in the first place, saying, “I was like, ‘This is young.’ People gave me compliments saying ‘You look rested,’ so I thought, ‘I’m going to do it again.’” She revealed that after returning from a tour, she thought a little Botox could freshen her look, but now she regrets going overboard.
Looking back on her experience, Meghan shared a valuable lesson for her fans: “Don’t try everything.” She explained that while Botox and fillers seemed like a good idea at the time, the results didn’t align with her expectations.
In addition to her candid Botox confessions, Meghan also revealed her upcoming plans for a breast augmentation. The “Lips Are Movin” singer, who has two young children with husband Daryl Sabara, explained that her body has changed significantly after breastfeeding. “My mommy boobies were full of milk and now they’re empty and then full of milk and now they’re empty,” she shared. She added that the changes in her body have left her feeling less than confident, especially after losing some weight. “I have saggy sacks as boobs,” Meghan joked.
As always, Meghan’s sense of humor and openness about her personal life shines through, reminding her fans that it’s okay to embrace imperfections—and laugh through the process.
