Sundance Head’S Close Call: The Voice Winner Survives Accidental Shooting, Shares Heartfelt Update

Jason “Sundance” Head is back on his feet and out in the fresh air, recovering from a terrifying ordeal at his Texas ranch. The country singer, who rose to fame as the winner of The Voice season 11, shared a new video on Facebook Monday, November 25, showing fans that he’s back to his outdoor routine despite the recent life-threatening accident.

With a smile on his face, Head addressed his followers from the ranch, saying, “Hello everybody. Hope you’re having a great day. It’s a beautiful day out here. I’m up here walking around, doing some exercise.” As he strolled through the fields, he introduced his beloved cows, Maggie and Louise, proudly showing off his “beautiful girls.”

This uplifting video came just 10 days after the singer accidentally shot himself while hunting in the woods on November 15. His agent, Trey Newman, confirmed the shocking accident to PEOPLE. Despite the gravity of the situation, Head appeared determined to continue pushing forward, showing fans that he’s made significant progress.

In the days following the incident, Head’s wife, Misty, took to social media to update fans, revealing that Sundance had been released from the hospital and was home, albeit still in rough shape. “He was bleeding badly through his bandages,” she shared, explaining how they endured a difficult three-hour car ride home after the accident.

On November 17, Sundance Head broke his silence and shared his harrowing experience with his fans. He admitted that in the heat of the moment, he truly believed he was going to die. “It was one of the craziest things that’s ever happened to me,” Head said, his voice raw with emotion. “I really wanted to come on here and tell you guys that I am alive. I’m in a lot of pain. I was shot accidentally in the stomach. I was alone.”

The Darlin’ Don’t Go singer expressed immense gratitude toward the first responders who came to his aid and worked tirelessly to keep him alive. He also extended thanks to a Good Samaritan who stopped to help him after the shooting. “Without you, man, I don’t think I was gonna make it,” Head said, referring to the stranger who found him “bleeding out” on the side of the road. “I was at the end of the road.” He called it a “life-changing” moment and said he was forever grateful to the men who saved his life.

“I look forward to spending more time with you in the future,” Head shared, conveying his deep appreciation for the stranger’s life-saving act. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to his fans for their prayers and well wishes during his recovery.

Sundance Head is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. Known for his big personality and gentle heart, he became a fan favorite on Blake Shelton’s team during The Voice season 11, capturing the hearts of viewers across the nation. He has also been a familiar face to audiences since his time competing on American Idol in 2007, where he made it to the semi-finals.

Now, after surviving an accident that nearly took his life, Head is reminding his fans of what truly matters: resilience, gratitude, and the power of community. Despite the challenges he’s faced, he’s proving that there’s still so much life left to live.

In the weeks ahead, fans are eager to see what’s next for Sundance Head, but for now, he’s simply thankful to be alive and back on his feet, doing what he loves—spending time with his animals and his family.
